A transformative journey for teens seeking empowerment and self-discovery.

This engaging course is a dynamic blend of games, quizzes, and thought-provoking tasks designed to inspire personal growth.

The course is presented as a Challenge to teenagers who are invited to participate in a game, where they will accumulate points for participating, in order to win prizes.

The challenge will be hosted on a private Facebook page that only our teens or their parents will have access to.

We've planned the 3-Month Teen Challenge to start in end-December, aligning with the holiday season when teens are usually more relaxed. The challenge will end in end-March.

To keep things engaging yet flexible, we'll share activities, quizzes, and games every second day— three times a week, excluding Sundays. Each task should take your teen between 5 and 30 minutes, making it easy to fit into their routine.

This well-thought-out schedule aims to make the challenge impactful while considering the varied schedules of our participants. We believe it will create a positive and enriching experience for all teens involved.

Throughout the challenge, our teenagers will experience:

  1. Meaningful Connections: Engage with other teens on a similar journey—those who have received the gift and delved into the book. This offers the opportunity to forge new friendships across South Africa, fostering discussions and sharing valuable experiences and insights.
  2. Thoughtful Reflection: Encourage teens to contemplate their attitudes, behaviors, and future aspirations more deeply, prompting a heightened awareness of their personal development.
  3. Applying the 7 Habits of Success: Challenge teens to actively apply the principles of the 7 Habits of Successful Teenagers in their own lives, fostering positive habits that lead to effectiveness.
  4. Trusted Support: Provide a reliable space with a non-judgmental adult presence. This ensures a supportive environment where teens can express themselves freely, promoting personal empowerment and responsibility.
  5. Joyful Achievements: Infuse an element of enjoyment into the challenge by offering the chance to accumulate points and win prizes. This not only provides entertainment but also delivers a sense of accomplishment and achievement, making the journey both engaging and rewarding.

Games will include building an online puzzle, word searches and crosswords.

Quizzes will be based on the book by Sean Covey.

Tasks are aimed at getting teens out of their comfort zone and will include making a video, taking a picture, singing, writing a poem, using their gift items and/or sharing their opinion through discussions and team work.

Team work involves teens working together to fulfill any of the activities above.

After purchasing the gift, parents & loved ones will be contacted to confirm their teens invite to the challenge. Should your teen be participating, parents will receive a detailed breakdown via email of the topics and challenges which will be given. Parents will also receive personal feedback on their teens progress on a weekly basis.

This is a "Teen Challenge" so parental involvement directly in the games and activities is not necessary BUT we highly recommend that parents:

1. communicate with their teens at all times - ask them about the challenge and what they doing.

2. read the book too! then discuss your thoughts and listen to theirs.

3. monitor your teens online presence including their activity on the private facebook group used to administer this challenge.

4. be available, make time and be open to partake in any task or activity your teen asks you to.

5. show you care about their progress and their goals. Should you have differences discuss why you see it your way and listen to your teen, try to understand their way too.

Besides reading the book and having access to Facebook, no.

Teenagers do not need any specific skills to participate.

Each post, task or discussion in the Facebook group will be guided and monitored by the administrator, Cassie Dildar.

Any posts initiated that is not in line with the course topics will be moderated/deleted.

Tasks, discussions and challenges are all based on Covey's book which have been used by millions of teenagers around the world, and is age appropriate. Videos, images and stories used to further assist in understanding the 7 Habits are only those trusted by other teachers of Covey's work.

The scoring system operates as follows:

  1. Teens accumulate points by actively participating in various activities such as playing games, responding to questions, engaging in quizzes, solving riddles, and collaborating in team challenges.
  2. Each task, game, or challenge is assigned a specific number of points, which will be clearly communicated at the beginning of each challenge.
  3. Timely participation is rewarded. Teens who actively engage within the initial hours of a challenge receive the highest score, while those responding later receive fewer points. However, all participants, regardless of response time, earn points.
  4. At the conclusion of the 3-month period, the teenager with the highest accumulated points will be crowned the individual winner, securing a well-deserved prize.
  5. Additionally, there's a team dynamic. The team with the highest combined score sees each member winning a prize.

The prizes, which may vary, often include airtime, data, and delightful chocolate hampers.

This scoring approach aims to encourage consistent engagement, reward proactive participation, and foster a sense of teamwork among the teens involved.

Since this is a 3 month challenge, teenagers have three months to participate.

Challenges will be posted every second day, which gives teenagers two days to respond, play and add their opinion. Those who respond within this period gain maximum points.

However, the time frames are not rigid and teens may respond whenever they are able to and will still gain points.

The aim of the challenge is to get teens to read the book, think about the concepts presented and ultimately implement the habits into their own lives. The 3 month challenge gives them the opportunity to do so.

After 3 months, the private Facebook group will be deleted and teens will no longer have access to it.

Worksheets and Extra Activities:
Get ready for enhanced learning! We'll provide downloadable resources like worksheets and extra activities within the Facebook group. These materials are designed for teens to explore, offering supplementary content that may or may not be part of the challenge itself.

Regular Feedback:
Expect continuous engagement from the course creator and administrator, Cassie Dildar. Parents will receive regular feedback to stay informed about their teen's progress and engagement within the course. This feedback loop ensures a transparent and supportive environment.

Open Communication:
Have questions or need someone to talk to? Mrs. Dildar is here for both parents and teenagers. Reach out whenever you need assistance, clarification, or simply want to share your thoughts. Open communication is key to making this experience valuable for everyone involved.

If there are any additional resources or support needed during the 3-Month Teen Challenge, feel free to reach out. We're here to ensure a smooth and enriching experience for both teens and their parents or guardians. Whether it's clarification on a task, technical assistance, or any other form of support, don't hesitate to connect with us. Your satisfaction and the success of the challenge are our top priorities.

Mrs. Dildar will offer weekly feedback on each teenager directly to the parents via email or other mutually agreed-upon means. She will be available for any support or queries you may have at any time and throughout every stage of the challenge.

While the primary focus of the 3-Month Teen Challenge is to engage teenagers in reading Covey's '7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers', thinking about its concepts, and implementing these habits into their lives, it's important to note that the course is not a substitute for professional intervention in cases of behavioral or other difficulties.

The challenge provides a structured and supportive environment for teens to explore the principles outlined in the book, encouraging personal growth and development. However, if your teenager is facing specific challenges beyond the scope of the course, such as behavioral issues, we recommend seeking professional assistance. A qualified therapist, counselor, or mental health professional can provide tailored support to address individual needs.

Our aim is to create a positive and enriching experience for all participants. If you have concerns about your teenager's behavior, we encourage you to consult with a professional who can offer guidance and support tailored to your teen's unique situation. The 3-month challenge serves as an opportunity for teens to explore these concepts in a supportive community setting.
